Chanelle Gervais

Law Student

Chanelle is the firm’s newest addition to the student roster. She joined MC Lawyers on May 7th, 2024.


Chanelle is assisting the team in connection with civil & estate litigation matters as well as employment matters. Chanelle’s duties include interacting with clients, client intakes, drafting correspondence and legal documents, such as affidavits, claims, briefs and preparing executive summaries for various litigation files.


Chanelle is in law school at the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law at Lakehead University in Thunder Bay and will be graduating in the spring of 2026.

Prior to law school, Chanelle graduated with distinction from Toronto Metropolitan University in 2023. Chanelle completed a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Industries specializing in the art and business of film, as well as acting and dance. During this time, Chanelle gained experience working for a large media company.


Chanelle has previous experience working in Family Law, Child Protection, Real Estate, Wills and Estates, Provincial Offences, as well as Criminal Law. She has worked on legal matters directly affecting Indigenous communities and has continued to develop a deeper understanding of Indigenous law in her law school studies.


Chanelle is currently a member of the Law Journal at the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law where she is tasked with reviewing legal articles for upcoming publications. Chanelle has further developed her advocacy skills by participating in a moot competition at the 2024 Law Games in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.


Chanelle was born and raised in Timmins, is fully bilingual in French and English, and is committed to serving her community.
