April Desbiens joined Team Meunier Carrier in August 2017 as a Law Clerk.
April graduated from the Law Clerk program at College Boreal in 2017, where she obtained her Law Clerk Diploma.
Prior to joining the team, April worked as a Law Clerk for a plaintiff personal injury law firm in Sudbury.
April is fluent in English and French and was born and raised in Smooth Rock Falls. She is the Law Clerk who is the main lead to the lawyers on all tort matters and works closely with the support staff.
April travels the Northern Corridor and serves as the firm’s representative in the Town of Cochrane and area where she has resided since the summer of 2017.
April interacts directly with clients with the support of the lawyers in meeting deadlines. April plays an important role in interviewing clients, drafting correspondence, and seeking and obtaining documents to advance a client’s case. She oversees new client intakes and assists the lawyers with the completion of accident benefits related tasks and an array of duties pertaining to tort matters. She works hard behind the scenes drafting legal documents, drafting interim and final accounts and partakes and dispatches other staff in scheduling important steps in the proceedings such as examinations for discovery, medical assessments, pre-trials, mediations, settlement documents and trial dates.
April is the senior law clerk who provides other staff and students a great deal of mentorship and ongoing training in the area of civil litigation.
