Blakeney Hart

Blakeney joined the team as a co-op student in 2015 and was subsequently hired after her placement to work as a legal assistant. She has continued to work with our team during her undergraduate program and the summer months.  Blakeney continues to work with the firm twice a week at present while she is completing her University studies online.

Blakeney has been studying at the University of Ottawa where she will be obtaining her Bachelor of Social Sciences degree in a Joint Honours in Criminology and Feminist and Gender Studies. Blakeney is currently undertaking a Human Resources program over the summer of 2022 and will join the team again in the near future.

Blakeney forms part of the team that focuses on personal injury matters and assumes the responsibility for pre-examination documentation and preparing draft Affidavit of Documents. Blakeney further assists the team in ensuring that all undertakings after examinations for discovery are requested and obtained and works closely with April and the lawyers in ensuring compliance with that endeavour.  Blakeney provides support to the team at client meetings and in dealing with clients, health practitioners such as family physicians, specialists, physiotherapists, chiropractors, massage therapists, osteopaths, hospitals, etc.  Additionally, Blakeney serves to ensure that clients are kept posted on the file progress and she supports the lawyers and clients.

Blakeney has had the opportunity to attend examinations for discovery and court with the lawyers to acquire a better appreciation of the process and actively participates in the firm huddles on education, file status reviews and participates in continuing legal education and mentorship opportunities at MEUNIER CARRIER LAWYERS.
