Julia began working as a legal assistant with Team Meunier Carrier in 2018. She completed a co-op education program at the law firm in 2019.
Julia plays an integral part with Team Meunier Carrier and has worked closely with Jay Meunier in connection with drafting complex Statements of Claims involving catastrophic injuries as well as fatalities. Julia works hard behind the scenes requesting and reviewing medical records and diagnostic imaging as well as preparing initial draft executive summaries of extensive medical files and client documents. Julia interacts with clients and forms part of the intake team. Julia has further had the opportunity to attend and observe examinations for discovery, court matters in the Ontario Court of Justice, Superior Court of Justice and disputes before the Licence Appeal Tribunal along with the lawyers at Meunier Carrier Lawyers. Julia actively participates in the firm huddles and partakes in the educational seminars offered at Meunier Carrier Lawyers.
Julia is currently studying at the University of British Columbia in the Bachelor of International Economics program, taking courses from the Vancouver School of Economics and the Sauder School of Business. In addition, Julia is currently the President of Public Relations for the UBC Law and Society Chats. Julia hopes to attend law school after obtaining her Bachelor’s degree.
Outside of work, Julia enjoys running, swimming and spending time with her friends and family.
Julia would like to continue exploring all areas of law with a particular interest in personal injury and corporate law.
