Matthew Graine

Matthew Graine joined Team Meunier Carrier as a legal assistant in February 2021 on a part-time basis and assumed a full-time role in May of 2021.

He was born in Timmins and raised in Smooth Rock Falls, and subsequently returned to Timmins in his pre-teens. He is known for being a fan of the Montreal Canadians and deemed a trooper for never begrudging his work colleagues who dedicated a wall in his office to the Toronto Maple Leafs.

By way of background, Matthew graduated from École Secondaire Catholique Thériault, where he obtained his Ontario Secondary School Diploma in June of 2017. During his time in high school, Matthew participated in the school’s curling program and attended OFSAA in 2016, winning a bronze medal. He completed four years of schooling at Wilfrid Laurier University, graduating with an Honours Bachelors’ Degree in Political Science in June 2021.

At Meunier Carrier Lawyers, Matthew plays a pivotal role with the team. Matthew has had the opportunity to observe the team’s lawyers in court, at numerous examinations for discovery, mediations and at client meetings. Matthew works closely with the lawyers and support staff on both Tort and Accident Benefits matters. Matt’s days are mainly dedicated to Civil Litigation matters. Matthew plays an instrumental role dealing with the firm’s clients with respect to updates and medical assessments as well as the client’s health practitioners and experts. Matthew forms part of the team that assists the lawyers with pre and post examination undertakings and meetings. Matthew actively supports Jay and Dave by closely working with many of the clients who have suffered Catastrophic Impairments. Matthew has been an active participant at the firm’s ongoing in-house training sessions in the fields in which Meunier Carrier practices as well as the weekly lunch and learn programs.
