Matthew Graine

Matthew Graine joined Team Meunier Carrier as a legal assistant in February 2021 and worked on a full-time basis until pursuing his law school studies which he began in September of 2022.

Matthew is in the midst of completing law school at the University of Moncton and his graduation from the Faculty of Law anticipated to take place in May of 2025.

Matthew works part-time as a law student throughout the year and full-time during the summer break from law school.

Matt is a law student who is well-rounded and who shows much dedication and possesses excellent communication and analytical skills.  He is a formidable at teamwork and works well with co-workers and goes the extra mile for the firm.  The firm is very fortunate to have Matt form part of the team.

Matthew was born in Timmins and raised in Smooth Rock Falls, and subsequently returned to Timmins in his pre-teen years.

By way of background, Matthew graduated from École Secondaire Catholique Thériault, where he obtained his Ontario Secondary School Diploma in June of 2017. During his time in high school, Matthew participated in the school’s curling program and attended OFSAA in 2016, winning a bronze medal. He completed four years of schooling at Wilfrid Laurier University, graduating with an Honours Bachelors’ Degree in Political Science in June 2021.

At Meunier Carrier Lawyers, Matthew plays a pivotal role with the team. Matthew has had the opportunity to observe the team’s lawyers in court, at well over 100 plus examinations for discovery, numerous mediations, pre-trials, and at client meetings. Matthew works closely with the lawyers, support staff and clients on both Tort and Accident Benefits matters. Matthew’s days are mainly dedicated to Civil Litigation cases. Matthew plays an instrumental role dealing with the firm’s clients with respect to updates and medical assessments as well as the client’s health practitioners and experts. Matthew forms part of the team that assists the lawyers with pre and post examination undertakings and meetings. Matthew is also the lead member of the team who spends considerable time along with the lawyers preparing clients for examinations for discovery and other important steps in the case. Matthew actively supports the lawyers by closely working with many of the clients who have suffered Catastrophic Impairments.

Matthew is fluent in French and helps serve our francophone clients throughout the Province of Ontario.

Matthew has been an active participant and organizer at the firm’s ongoing in-house training sessions in the fields in which Meunier Carrier practices as well as the weekly lunch and learn programs.
