Nelia Fadavi

Nelia Fadavi began working as a student with Team Meunier Carrier in 2020.

She is a graduate from Havergal College in Toronto, Ontario, in 2019 and placed on the Honour Roll with Distinction (awarded to students with an average of 90% or better). During her years at Havergal, Nelia collaborated with students to co-found the Resist, Insist, Persist Committee, wherein she promoted voicing opinions in the face of controversy, and instilled a sense of peer support in her community through organizing events that raised awareness for social issues.

Currently, Nelia is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts with a focus on Gender, Sexuality, Feminist, and Social Justice (GSFS), and a double minor in Political Science and French Language at McGill University. At McGill, Nelia is a member of the McGill Pre-Law Students Society, where she shadows and learns from practicing lawyers. After completing her Bachelor degree, Nelia’s goal is to attend law school, and consequently, practice law.

Nelia’s interests outside of the legal field include volunteering, reading, civic engagement, social activism and travelling.

She is multilingual and speaks English, French, and Farsi fluently. Nelia is grateful for the opportunities that Team Meunier Carrier has provided her by observing court matters, reviewing extensive medical records and preparing executive summaries.  Nelia has learned a great deal about the law from being exposed to virtual court, meetings with clients, and mediations. She is interested in all aspects of law but hopes to particularly explore family law and personal injury law.

Nelia will be working again remotely behind the scenes with Meunier Carrier Lawyers on her breaks from McGill University.
